The Wine
Prepare to be thrilled by this Portuguese white whose wonderful flavours stem from a unique blend of grapes. Deliciously fresh and crisp Vinha Fria Branco is made by award winning Jaime Quendera from grapes grown close to the sea in the Setúbal Peninsula. It was here that Vasco da Gama lived and set sail to discover the maritime route to India, though the coastline is better known today as a surfing hotspot. Wine wise, the terroir is ideal for delicate aromatic wines. Ancient sandy soils deposited by the Tagus and Sado rivers, the sunny climate and cooling ocean breezes all contribute to perfect conditions for wines. Seafood features prominently on the local menu so you’ll find this wine ideal with prawns, scallops, grilled fish or salads.
