Shingle Peak Reserve Sauvignon Blanc 2015
Marlborough

A handful of Kiwi estates pioneered certain grapes but first off the blocks with Sauvignon (in 1973!) was Matua Valley, IWSC's 2017 Winery of the Year. Quality is tip-top – seven Golds in the last few vintages! Don’t miss the grassy zipped 2015.

The Wine
Shingle Peak Reserve is a special selection of Sauvignon from Matua Valley Wines. This groundbreaking estate was started in 1973 by brothers Ross and Bill Spence, in an old tin shed in the heart of Marlborough's Golden Mile. They quickly gained a reputation for innovative, award winning wines – it was their Sauvignon Blanc that inspired Marlborough’s Sauvignon revolution in subsequent decades. Today, the estate is as pristine and modern as any and has a huge international following. We’re lucky to get 750 cases for our UK customers. Shingle Peak 2015 is really intense, full of lemon, green bell pepper and grassy notes with ripe passion fruit and pineapple flavours to balance. Enjoy with fish and chips, spicy Thai dishes or salade niçoise.
