The Wine
Champagne house Heidsieck & Co was founded in 1785 by Florens-Louis Heidsieck. In 1828 nephew Christian Heidsieck joined forces with Henri-Guillaume Piper and Piper-Heidsieck came into being. The Champagne has long been associated with the film industry and is official Champagne of the Oscars. Rare is crafted by celebrated winemaker Régis Camus, awarded ‘Sparkling Winemaker of the Year Trophy’ eight times by London’s International Wine Challenge. It comprises Chardonnay, mostly from the Montagne de Reims, along with Pinot Noir, the grapes coming from a total of 17 vineyards. The magnificent, multi award winning 2002 vintage is rich, generous, complex and elegant. Serve in tall flutes on suitably auspicious occasions and savour.

Delicious to drink now, this has the structure to hold tight for several years in the cellar
