The Wine
Federica Lauterio is a native of northern Italy, the heartland of the Pinot Grigio grape. She is also the latest winemaking protégée of an established and highly respected Pinot Grigio specialist (none other than the great Scipione Giuliani of Papavero fame). Her romantically named Lumina Lunae means ‘by the light of the moon’, reflecting the fact that the grapes were harvested in the cool of night to retain maximum fruity freshness in the wine. Our Buyer Davy was particularly impressed by this sublime new vintage, with all its incredible zing and mouthwatering citrus fruit. An excellent vintage ensures it’s a real pleasure when served as a glass solo, or with grilled prawns, a prosciutto and Parmesan platter or tomato and mozzarella salad.
