The Story Behind the Bottle
It’s rare to find a whopping Aussie Shiraz with finesse and complexity for such an everyday price but here’s one for the taking. It comes from a hugely renowned South Australia winery with vineyards in many of the premium regions, including the McLaren Vale. They specialise in big, chunky reds that normally sell at a far higher price. But when they have a little surplus they need to shift quickly, they let our intrepid Buyer Dan know. He's always looking for the next big deal. All the grapes are from the McLaren Vale, a region with a big reputation for Shiraz. Not normally quite so punchy as those from the Barossa, this Shiraz is a whopping 16.5% and packed with rich blackberry, mocha and spice. Tops with roast lamb or premium burgers.
