The Wine
Big, ripe, soft berry fruit and powerfully smooth, this is a magnificent old-vine Zinfandel we were delighted to secure, especially when it came at such at remarkable price. We have worked with this legendary Napa Valley winery for a number of years, so when they had a small batch of red they wanted to clear from the cellar, they called us first. We could have it an impressively low price, so long as we kept their name quiet. Not only that, but 2013 was a tiny-yield vintage that resulted in wines of terrific concentration. This exclusive Limited Release, aged for four months in French oak barrels, is brimming with smooth, weighty spiced berry flavours with vanilla complexity. Serve with barbecued ribs, spicy tagine or rich lamb hotpot.
