The Wine
Our Buyer Beth was tasked with finding the best value new Sauvignon in Europe. She tasted far and wide and this is the exciting outcome. It's from Codru in Moldova, which with its long, slow ripening season, is ideal for this grape. No wonder it can boast 2,000 years of winemaking history. Lapis Legenda is made with hand picked, naturally organic grapes at this award winning winery, equipped for producing whistle clean whites. Until recently our in-house Sauvignon expert Jean-Marc Sauboua worked there with winemaker Vladimir Lazariuc to make a string of award winning vintages – now Vlad is very much ‘the master’. With its crisp, tropical, grapefruit character, Lapis Legenda is truly impressive. Perfect solo and delicious with mussels.
